Privacy policy

How Dextry handles personal information, in plain English. Last updated 29 September 2026.

This policy explains how Dextry (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, stores and discloses personal information through this website, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

When you fill in a form on this site (a consult request, or the free AI readiness assessment), we collect:

  • your name and email address;
  • your phone number and company name, if you give them;
  • your message, if you write one;
  • which free resource you asked for, if any;
  • if you complete the AI readiness assessment, your answers and the resulting scores. Until you send your details, your answers stay in your browser and aren't sent to us.

We also record how you found the site: campaign tags in the link you followed (such as utm_source), the name of the website that referred you (not the full address), and the first page you visited. This is stored with your enquiry, not used to track you across other sites.

We don't use advertising or analytics trackers, and we don't embed third-party chat widgets or forms. The site keeps a small note of how you arrived, and your assessment answers while you work through it, in your browser's session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab. If you choose the dark theme, that choice is remembered in your browser. Staff who sign in to our system use a sign-in cookie; visitors don't get one.

Why we collect it

We use your information to:

  • reply to your enquiry and arrange a consult;
  • give you the free resource or assessment results you asked for, and follow up about them;
  • understand which pages and campaigns bring enquiries, so we can improve the site.

We won't add you to a mailing list or send you marketing emails unless you ask us to. We never sell or rent personal information.

Where it's stored

Enquiries are stored in a database hosted by DigitalOcean in Sydney, Australia. Backups are kept in Amazon Web Services' Sydney region. Access is limited to people who need it to respond to you.

When you send an enquiry, we're notified by email. That email contains the details you entered and is delivered through our email provider.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers above, who host our systems and deliver email for us, and only so they can provide that service. We don't disclose your information to anyone else unless the law requires it.

How long we keep it

If you don't go on to work with us, we delete your name, contact details and message 2 years after we last worked on your enquiry. We keep only anonymous figures, such as the date and which page you came from, so we can see which parts of the site are useful. If you become a client, we keep your details while we work together and for 7 years afterwards, as business records. You can ask us to delete yours at any time.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, stored in access-controlled systems, and each client's data is kept separate at the database level. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us through our contact form. We'll respond within 30 days.

If you're not happy with how we've handled a privacy matter, please tell us first so we can try to fix it. If you're still not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page if our practices change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
